Do we let people and states, through their elected officials, decide the definition of marriage, or do we let activists judges overrule their decisions through court edict?
Here’s the thing, though. Right now, the court has ruled that what the “people” have done is, well, illegal. I never took a civics class, but I’m fairly sure that the judiciary is supposed to stop the legislative branch from doing something that is unconstitutional. That’s their job.
You or Cornyn may not agree with their interpretation, but that’s different. And let’s recall that the people have the right to change the state constitution by voting on it.
I realize that posts like mine will never change anything, because Cornyn could care less. But still.
