Four Things I No Longer Care About

The plants in containers outside. Some may think of it as neglect, I think of it as wiping the slate clean for next year.

Whether my clean underwear is folded. It’s not like there’s a space crisis in my dresser drawer, and who looks in there but me?

Voting in local elections. I’m sure this makes me a bad person, but I just can’t get motivated to care right now.

Finding curtains that look good with my imaginary future furniture. Right now I’ll settle for covering the windows so that when I have to go downstairs and retrieve my only clean pair of pants from the dryer, I don’t have to put on pants in order to go get my pants. (Because I don’t, and I don’t want to feel awkward about it when I’m out pushing the stroller and greet one of my neighbors on the street.)
